custom painted TOMS shoes

i had the pleasure of painting some toms shoes this weekend, on Mother's Day @ the Sports Basement in the Marina (near my new live/work home!)

myself and two other artists had tables set up, each of us with different varieties of supplies and techniques, while mother's and children could come and either get their shoes painted for them, or sit and paint with us. personally, i chose to sit and paint my own shoes, sharing my art supplies and creative inspiration, while others gathered around and sat with me to paint their own shoes.

MOMS TOMS, the event, came full equipped with a dj, some beverage sponsors -- zico coconut water and hint flavored water -- and lots of delicious snacks. this was awesome, because i love zico and got a bunch of free coconut waters to drink this week :) perfect for my bikram yoga practice!

i had the pleasure of meeting one of the executives of toms, who is going to be sending me another pair of free shoes, even though i already got a pair and painted them myself :) i also had the pleasure of painting the shoes for the event coordinator @ the Sports Basement. what an enjoyable time it was... i love being an artist!

aside from cocktail waitressing at great american music hall over the weekend, and riding my bike to and from there, i was able to ride by bike alongside the bay, in the marina, to get to the sports basement. how lucky i am to be living in such a beautiful neighborhood...

i'll post pictures of the shoes soon! hopefully, i'll also be able to put up a photo of the skateboard deck i'm painting too!

home improvements will be taking over this week at the new live/work space... we have to install a kitchen, i'm going to paint some walls, and lots of cleaning is about to go down.

more posts coming soon!

peace and love.
